A warm town at the bottom

World

High society at the top, the Trenches in between, and a huge near moon over all of it. Every kin realm is racing toward that moon. Nobody is quite sure they should be.

    Places of Hashmere

    • Kindlewick from above in the game: a cobbled market square with striped stalls, ringed by blue-roofed timber houses

      Kindlewick

      Live now

The hub. Every kin starts here, the Great Wick tells the hour, and somebody always points you the right way.

    • The Old Pond area in the game: green marsh grass, a few low-poly trees and a pale path

      The Old Pond

      Live now

Frog kin country. Mist, lily-pad bridges and a stone frog with its eyes on the sky.

    • The Trenches in the game: red-brown ground crossed by a sandy track, scattered with debris

      The Trenches

      Live now

The low ground that filled on the Tenth and never drained. Rough, crowded, and where the first heroes stood up.

    • Goblintown in the game: red earth with tracks radiating from a round clearing and Nilbog workshops

      Goblintown

      Live now

Home of the Nilbog. Red ground, busy benches, and drills that never quite stop.

    • Leviathan Bay in the game: blue water, a wooden dock with a small white boat and pale stone paving

      Leviathan Bay

Gold domes and white plaster on the south coast. Shrimp kin run the loud docks, whale kin murmur about the moon behind the brass gate, and the Whale Banker keeps the main vault.

    • Rugwater

Dark water at the edge of the red ground. The pickers mend nets beside houses that have slipped a little, and the Steady Floor inn lives up to its name. The pickers say the bottom moves.

    Small towns down the road

    • Gmorning in the game: a paved square ringed by blue-roofed houses, with dirt roads and garden plots

      Gmorning

      Live now

A mill village on the road out of Kindlewick. Early risers, flour on everything, and walk-in houses with folk who want a word.

    • Baghold in the game: a paved square with striped market stalls and blue-roofed houses

      Baghold

      Live now

A traders’ hold. Stalls, yards and residents who never quite stop haggling. Whatever you’re carrying, someone here wants it.

    • Mintby in the game: a paved square with garden plots and blue-roofed houses, and a villager to talk to

      Mintby

      Live now

A mint and tea village. Stamped metal in the morning, strong tea by night, and residents with errands of their own.

    Chronicle

    How it began

    1. IA phrase

A row of plain words made the world. The first keepers broke it into fragments and hid them where the towns would grow.

    2. IIThe Age of Plenty

Kindlewick, the Old Pond, Goblintown and Leviathan Bay grew up green and careless.

    3. IIIThe Tenth

One night every wickstone turned red and the sky tore over every city but one. On Holdfast Hill a plain grey tower burned amber, and its keepers held.

    4. IVThe Trenches

Everyone who fell landed in the mud with empty hands. The first heroes stood up there: not the strongest, just the ones already awake.

    5. VNow

The sky remembers how to tear. So when it does, come. The night is long, Wickling. But somebody has to stay.
